What Was Debate Like in the 1950s? An Interview with a 1950s Debater

This is a repost of an older In the Bin episode which I'm calling The RECYCLE Bin!

Occasionally I'll take old episodes and republish them. This interview from 2016 is a great moment of oral history as I get to speak with someone who debated as an undergraduate in the 1950s at the University of Vermont.

Have a listen!

On the National Speech and Debate Association

This week's episode takes a look at the NSDA as not an organization governing a type of discourse, but as discourse itself.
We do so by looking at both the horrifying incident that happened during the final round, and the CBS Mornings piece on the competition.

Have a listen, and remember comments are always welcome!
